Strain measurement and analysis in the field and in the laboratory. Deformation mechanisms of minerals and rocks. Interpretation of macroscopic and microscopic fabric elements. Timing of deformation, recovery, alteration, and metamorphism. Prerequisites: Geo-Sci 431 and calculus.

Envrnmntl Geophysics

Application of seismic, gravity, magnetic, and electrical methods used in geophysical exploration. Field techniques, data compilation, and basic interpretations used to support shallow subsurface studies and environmental or hydrologic programs. Lectures, laboratory and field problems. Hist of Captlst Dev/Euro&World

This course examines the emergence and evolution of capitalist forms of economic organization, and their interaction with noncapitalist forms. It begins with the Atlantic economy and the African slave trade, and then covers nineteenth-century industrialization in Britain, France, Germany and Russia. The next readings, which include areas in both the center and periphery of the world economy, are organized by topic: trade and the international division of labor, international finance and foreign investment, imperialism, migration, and changing industrial leadership in the world economy.

ST-Intro/Javascript Game Dvlpt

Students will be taught the basics of game development using a Javascript/HTML5 game engine. This course will be project based, with students implementing features onto simple existing games to familiarize themselves with the engine. After becoming comfortable with the engine, students will propose a game project and then develop it from scratch. Not for CS Major/Minor Requirements.

Struct of a Non-Indo-Euro Lang

Phonology and syntax of a language other than English. Emphasis on the application of current linguistic theory to analytical problems presented by that language and the testing of current theoretical hypotheses by reference to those problems. An informant generally used. Within each of these courses, languages vary from year to year; any of them may be repeated for credit. Prerequisites: LINGUIST 601, 603.
