Soils W/Lab

Interrelationship of soils and higher plants. Physical, chemical, and biological properties of soils. Practical approach to current problems through basic soil principles. Prerequisite: some knowledge of chemistry. (Gen.Ed. BS)

The course will cover the fundamentals of information theory and their applications. Main topics include Entropy, Relative Entropy, and Mutual Information, Asymptotic Equipartition Property, Entropy Rates of a Stochastic Process, Data Compression, Channel Capacity, Differential Entropy, Gaussian Channel, Rate Distortion Theory, Information Theory and Statistics, Universal Source Coding, Network Information Theory, Information Theoretic Security.

ST-Pilates

This course is designed to teach pilates mat workout in the basic level. Students will be able to understand and apply basic "core" principles that Pilates is based upon dance, sports or any physical activity in daily life. Students must provide their own yoga mat and 6ft. heavy flex-band.

ST-Ggrphy,Policy & Environment

This is a mixed undergrad/grad class that examines the ways our lives, places and environments are organized by policies and law, and the underlying economic, cultural and political reasons we have shaped policies and laws in the ways we have. We examine the structures and background history of law and policy often taken for granted, from the role of private property in American development to national forest "sustained yield" policies to the politics of waste and recycling, and we trace forward their tangible impacts on human communities and the environmental landscape.

Principles of Pub Hth Practice

This course is designed to give students a broad overview of public health and public health systems within the United States. This course will provide students with an understanding of the core disciplines with public health and will then focus in on the social and political aspects of health. The course will allow students to gain an understanding of the role of public policy in health and how to develop policies and plan that support individual and community health efforts.
