Leadership for Health Justice

This course focuses on leadership frameworks, skills and strategies for nursing scholars working towards health justice and sustainable futures. Learners will cultivate a radical imagination for nursing?s ethics and possible futures. Drawing upon anti-racist, decolonial, and liberatory frameworks, in addition to personal and community assessments, learners will articulate their own philosophies of leadership.

Sustainability Marketing

A sustainability perspective has become an imperative for business as usual in these days of climate and public health crises. This course has been designed to introduce students to marketing through the sustainability lens. Both experienced marketers and those new to the field will benefit from approaching the development of a marketing plan with the triple bottom line (economic, environmental and societal) as the guiding principal.

Marketing careers are evolving. It's not just about selling products to maximize profits; it's about understanding the impact on all stakeholders and building brands that maximize stakeholder value. This course equips students with the skills to thrive in this new landscape, combining core marketing expertise with essential life skills (e.g., communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills) to disrupt default habits and biases that get in the way of making decisions that align with personal values and intentions for creating a meaningful career and life.

Business Policy and Strategy

This course is designed to be highly integrative in that students use knowledge and tools from all functional areas of business to develop a "whole organization" perspective. In addition, they integrate by examining these functions within the context of business and societal environments, such as the competitive, political/legal, socio-cultural, technological, and economic. Furthermore, they integrate and further develop general education knowledge and skills, such as written and oral communications in each course assignment.

Prac- Access to Success

This course is designed for undergraduate students who are registered with Disability Services. It teaches successful time management skills, learning strategies, utilizes active/critical reading techniques, information analysis, critical thinking, effective writing, testing strategies, study methods and self-advocacy.

Markets Democracy in LA

(Offered as POSC-336 and LLAS-336) This is an introduction to the study of modern Latin American politics. The overriding question is: why have democracy and self-sustained prosperity been so difficult to accomplish in the region We begin by examining different definitions of democracy. Thereafter, we discuss three democracy-related themes in Latin America. First, we focus on explaining similarities, specifically, common historical and institutional legacies that might have hindered democratic and economic development in the region.
