Tch Methodolgy Japan
Seminar on the theoretical and practical approaches to foreign language learning and teaching. Topics include teaching methodology, lesson planning, materials development, testing and assessment, and teacher development. Prerequisite: consent of instructor. (Not offered 2003-2004)
Intro Classical Japanese I
Introduction to the literary language of Japan, through the study of classical grammar and the linguistic analysis of poetry and short prose.
Adv Modern Japan I
Helps students to read high-quality Japanese texts in some quantity and different genres at the advanced level. Oral and written discussion of pertinent issues. Conducted in Japanese.
Media Japanese I
Aspects of Japanese language commonly used in the mass media including newspapers, journals, and TV programs.
Honors Research
The Commonwealth Honors College thesis or project is intended to provide students with the opportunity to work closely with faculty members to define and carry out in-depth research or creative endeavors. It provides excellent preparation for students who intend to continue their education through graduate study or begin their professional careers. The student works closely with their 499Y Honors Research sponsor to pursue research on a topic or question of special interest to them in preparation for writing a 499T Honors Thesis or completing a 499P Honors Project.
