Spoken Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers I is the first part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Spoken Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Cantonese develop speaking and listening skills needed to live and work in China or Hong Kong and to support coursework in East Asian Studies.

Honors Thesis expectations are high. The intended end-product is a traditional research manuscript with accompanying artifact(s), all theses: - are 6 credits or more of sustained research on a single topic, typically conducted over two semesters. - begin with creative inquiry and systematic research. - include documentation of substantive scholarly endeavor. - culminate in an oral defense or other form of public presentation.

Students will gain initial experience in teaching all aspects of Animal Science courses. Students must submit an application and will be expected to demonstrate specific competencies related to labs, assisting students, and leading review sessions.
